On Sunday we walked from the hotel to Central Park to go see The Gates. We had heard both positive and negative things about them, but what we decided is this: the enormity of the thing IS the thing. It was refreshing to see such bright colors in the dead of winter in the cold and gray park, and while the installation was not brilliant, it was beautiful and definitely worth the blister on my right foot. We even got to see Jean-Claude and Christo riding around in a limo.
